Educating Vermont's woodland owners and managers about practical approaches to forest management to enhance wildlife habitat and promote healthy forest ecosystems.
MISSION
Encourage and effect the maintenance, enhancement and/or creation of wildlife habitat on private forest lands in Vermont.
GOALS
Convey a heightened sense of stewardship to Vermont woodland owners that encourages formation of clear management objectives, long-range planning, and a commitment to enhance wildlife habitat that extend beyond the present owners tenure.- Communicate with public agencies, private organizations, and others about the program opportunities that will foster sound forest management and wildlife habitat on privately owned lands.
- Maintain and expand its corps of volunteers to include those willing and able to encourage and help other woodland owners to adopt forest management practices that favor wildlife.
